Library
I'm a 1st year student and I'm just wondering how the library works. I walked through one of them a couple weeks ago and it seemed SO confusing. How is it organized? If I'm looking for archaeological type information.. is there a section for archaeology? Or do you have to know the title of the book you need? Help?

You can use its website: http://library.mcmaster.ca/

Once you know the books you want, you can go find them. You can also ask at the library, they are always happy to help!

If you go to the help desk/front test on the first floor of Mills they can explain to you how cataloging works and how you can search for books in the library. You won't really find sections like you would in a public library but you'll learn it pretty quickly. Related topics are in the same general area but divided by subject matter. So, for example, archaeology will probably all be in a general area but it will be divided between different geographical locations, notable archaeologists etc.
