Life Sciences I Timetable Review, please!
I would like feedback on my timetable from folks who seem to understand what's actually going on. I think I've managed to land a good one, but your opinion's appreciated.
Uhm, also, the list of professors. Are they good? Bad? The worst? Or heck, even the best?
Bio 1M03, Kolasa, J.
Bio 1A03, Kajiura
Math 1A03, Marikova, J.
Chem 1A03, Dumont, R.
Linguistics 1A03, Moro, A.
Psych 1X03, Kim, J.
Psych 1XX3, Kim, J.
English 1A03, Zuroski, E.
Envir. Sc 1B03, Bernier, L.
Physics 1B03, Hughes, K.
Please, and thank you!
(Oh, and the timetables...I wasn't able to upload the pics, so I hope the xls. works just as well. Pleaseohpleaseohpleas e let it work.)

Hey Faer,
Your schedule seems pretty packed but to be honest all 1st year schedules are. They are horrendously packed with what seems like no respite in between. But learn this my friend, as years progress that gets better cuz one you learn to adapt and two it does actually get better and less compact and more open and maneuvarable to your convenience. so just stick in there and try to do your best this year. Cuz trust me when everyone says its the hardest year ... they aren't lying.
Also in terms of professors from what I've experienced myself in pure academic terms Dr. Kajiura is really easy, Dr. Kim is fair and has entertaining and clear lectures and Dr. Bernier is an great prof too. The others you can ask around or better still just go to http://www.ratemyprofessors. com/ or look them up in the course reviews that are posted on macinsiders. You have a plethora of tools available to you. Make the best outta them all!
Good luck bud!
Cheers

You can get into a psych program, and honours life sci without having chem 1AA3, and that's pretty much it. I don't even think you can get into biopsych, just regular psych...just something to keep in mind, if you want to do pretty much any other level 2 science program, you should take chem 1AA3.

Oh, thanks, nerual. I selected the subjects based upon the requirements for Biology with Psychology (Honours). I realize that if I decide to change, I can only take Life Sciences...
I doubt I'd be able to get into Chem 1AA3 if I tried now anyway. :/

To get into biopsych, you need chem 1A03+1AA3 with an average of at least 7 between those two courses:
http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1533.html
Even if chem 1AA3 is full now, people will fail 1A03 and thus be unable to take 1AA3, so spots will definitely open up in late Dec/early Jan, if not sooner. You could also try to email or go see the science academic advisors to see if they can open up a spot for you. You have plenty of time to get into this course
Faer
says thanks to nerual for this post.

How on EARTH did I miss that! I don't know what I was thinking. Of COURSE I need Chem 1AA3. I think I might have dropped it when I went during the 'I don't think I want to do Psych anymore' phase.
Well, off to SOLAR to try to get CHEM 1AA3. If I take that course, I see that my degree options widen up, and I can take some other degree specialisation in Level II, if I choose so.
Thanks, you saved my life.
ETA: There is space in CHEM 1AA3, but it conflicts with BIO 1A03 and PHYSICS 1B03. :( That sucks big time. I have no idea what to do now.

Try to switch the bio and physics sections if you can, or if not then contact an academic advisor to see if they can open up spots in other sections for you. You have plenty of time, so it might be best to go see them in person sometime in Sept.

I tried switching them, but they keep conflicting with each other. I thought to switch Bio 1A03 to 1D and 1M03 to 2D, but 1A03 has all the Labs full! Everything is available except that. So...I couldn't. I'll try fiddling around with it a bit, but I'll have to go see an advisor. Thanks!

(This merits a whole new post)
YES!!!!
:yeah :
It's set! No conflicts!! I managed to get it done!
YES!!!!
*celebrates*
The only thing is, I had to drop Envir Sc., which I only took from the required Life Sciences Course List, so I don't think it's a problem.

Yay! You should be fine with the courses from the Life Science Course List...chem 1A03 and 1AA3 both count, and I'm assuming you're taking both bios and both psychs, so one of those courses will count as well--so you have your 9 units from that list
