Seriously, what games have you been playing? By today's standards 20 hours is a short game. Most console games are 30-40, even the first person shooters. Rpgs are 40+ (100+ for really good ones with lots of end-game content). And then of course you have MMOs which are endless...

MMOs are only endless if you have a one-track mind. xD
or the developers release so much crap so often, that you have no chance of ever beating it

On topic: Seriously, just buy the original LBP. It's got to really cheap by now and apparently has about the same gameplay. You'll save yourself some money.

Would it be mean to link to Desda's MS thread right here?

Entropy likes this.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is about 15 Hours
Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are about 10 Hours
Uncharted 2 is about 8 Hours
Gears of War 2 is about 7 Hours
God of War 3 is about 7 Hours
Call of Duty Black Ops is about 7 Hours
Medal of Honor is about 6 Hours

Other than RPGs and Mission based adventure games (RDR, GTA IV, Fallout, Mass Effect, etc) nothing gets much higher than 10 hours.

I've invested like... hundreds of hours in counter strike source, haha.

But yeah, I've never played a non-rpg for more than 10ish hours (that I can think of).

The core gameplay is the same, but the customization (which is the heart of the game) is on a completely different level. Plus the LBP community is likely to migrate to LBP2 (which is going to decrease the value of a community-based game like LBP).

Check out the videos of some of the levels created for the LBP2 beta, they're amazing and extend far beyond simple platformers.

Never have I ever played a game for more than 10 hours. Even RPGs. Hell, I beat Fallout: New Vegas in like, 10 hours. Or maybe 15. And then I restarted and played again and again to try new things. 30 hours total, three or four different tries.
