Local Bakeries
Given the disappointment of the fresh bread selection at Fortinos and Metro, I am in search of local bakeries. Any suggestions?

Pissing off my roommates isn't the problem, the 2-3hrs spent on the task that I don't have is the problem..that and my inability to bake.

Do you mean Weil's? I LOVE that place!!
Great bread (almost always warm!), cinnamon buns and cookies. Their specialty cakes are a rip off, but their christmas pudding is the greatest thing like... EVER.
My 2cents!

:O Baking isn't the hardest thing in the world. Follow some simple recipies, pop it in the oven and voila.

Yep, that's the one. I like the bread there as well, its tasty, and usually pretty fresh (although mine's never been fresh enough to actually be warm). A lot of the stuff seems overpriced, but I've only ever frequented one other bakery before. The lack of selection for buns is probably the biggest problem I have, but I think I was spoiled by my bakery back home on that front.

You can also get a used bread maker off people for like $20-30, new they're more like $100. Most people get them as gifts and then only use them once or twice. For example:

Using a bread maker you just have to add the ingredients in the correct order and then hit go. 2 hours later, nice warm fresh bread without any work .
