Locks For Love is Coming!

Locks For Love is Coming!

Smiling Over Sickness will be hosting their annual Locks for Love event, a fundraiser for cancer research, on January 28th, 2008 in the Atrium of the Student Centre from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Given the continual need for human hair to create wigs for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, this event aims to promote the donation of at least 10 inches of human hair by offering free haircuts to participants. Hair stylists from Albert Snow Hair Design in Westdale will be volunteering their services for the event. All hair donated goes to Angel Hair for Kids, an organization that makes wigs for children with cancer. We are planning to have representatives from both the Canadian Cancer Society (and A Child's Foundation) speak at our event. If you are interested in helping out for the event, donating your hair, or raising funds, please contact [email protected] il.com

Yep! As I was walking into MUSC today I saw some newly-shorn people...that looked rather happy (and not sad, from loosing hair)
