Nice! I was planning on slapping some Phat Cats on my SG as well
but I realized that nothing beats the real P90 sound. Maybe...
After I'm done with testing some humbuckers.

I'm a singer if anyone's in need of one =D. Musically my taste is quite varied, but I can sing anything from Sarah McLachlan to Lauryn Hill to Lady Gaga. All I know is it gives me a lot of joy.
You can add me on MSN if you'd like to get into touch with me: [email protected] om.

Oh man, Phat Cats were my first choice of pickups, but my local store couldn't get any - I really wanted that Pete Townshend sound, damnit!
I think we have enough people on here to do pretty much any genre.....excellent.

Had this before. Stupidly sold it. I miss it badly.
The scratch is a mark of love. She was one of my favourites.

I'd be interested in jamming once the school year starts -- you can shoot me a message here on MacInsiders about where and when. I've played guitar for 4 years, tenor sax in jazz band for 4 years, and piano for about 10. And I sing as well (baritone, but with a bit of tenor range), and write music.
Edit: And I've been doing shows almost my whole life, so I don't really get nervous about that anymore. In highschool I usually did about ten a year, on stages from the Opera House in my town to highschool coffee shows to playing on the B101/FM93 stage at my town's Ribfest last year with my band.
My gear:
- Schecter 006 Hellraiser w/ EMG 81TW bridge and EMG 89 neck pups.
- Squier Strat (which I actually use more than my Schecter -- love the blues tone I can get)
- Fender Frontman 212R 100W amp -- fantastic John Mayer-like clean tone.
- HardWire Tube Overdrive pedal
- Boss GT-8 multi-effects
Influences:
John Mayer, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Joel, Eagles, Damien Rice, Najee, Led Zeppelin, Raul Midon, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Dave Matthews Band, The Outlaws, etc.

I've been playing bass for about 6 years or so. I've taken lessons from various teachers, gone to a number of workshops, etc. I've played in over a dozen bands, two serious ones. I've played a bunch in Toronto (Opera House, Lee's Palace, Big Bop, Rivoli, etc) and in Ontario (Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Haliburton, Minden, etc).
That being said, I stopped playing in January and am probably quite rusty. I'll also probably be quite busy this coming year. Regardless, if you'd like to jam sometime this year and maybe play a show here and there, let me know. I'm mostly interested in playing blues, jazz, and funk.
Here are some tracks I've written and played on:
www.myspace.com/spectrumsound
www.myspace.com/getrebel
Here's my equipment:
- Custom ERG Bass
- Carvin Red Line 1000 Bass Stack (Amplifier + Speaker)
- Electroharmonix Bass Big Muff
- BOSS ODB-3 Bass Overdrive
Here's what I listen to:

Musicians can be a bit obsessive about gear.
Anyone with pictures of theirs?
We all love pictures!

That is very true.....
I would post pictures, but I feel the sub-standard quality of my equipment would just invoke laughter from everyone on here, judging by the amazing equipment being talked about......(cowardly whimper)

Nah, dude. Everyone and everything is welcome!
I had to get rid of most of mine to help pay for school. :(
I'm going to start.

She's my first guitar and it's not going anywhere. She's retired now. Heavily modified.

I modded my first Squier strat too. I actually love the hell out of that guitar, it's my favourite one to play -- I like it more than my high-end Schecter. I like that you can see the wood grain on that strat, the flat painted reds and blacks and blues of most Squiers can get really ugly.
