Lost student card, what do I do for my exam?
My student card is in the lost and found, but the place to go pick it up is closed until Monday at 9:00 and that happens to be the time of my next exam. It's the same place where you get a replacement ID for $30 as well so that's not an option.

What do I do regarding ID for my exam on Monday? All I have with me is an old healthcard.

Run to the place on Monday, run to your exam right after.

Email prof and ask if you can use your drivers license or health card.

This is what I was planning, but I keep seeing myself standing there at 9:05 with whoever runs the desk stuck in traffic or something before I decide to run to MDCL, show up late, and then be in an even worse situation.

"There's a separate office for temporary exam IDs in IWC or DBAC or something", quoth a former Registrar employee.

"They're a very bad deal, same price as a full card replacement but you only get to use it for one exam"

Unless the exam is invigilated by the prof (highly unlikely, though it does occasionally happen), the prof doesn't have a say in the matter.

Check the black index card box next to the elevators near Compass for your card, unless you already know that Lost & Found has it. Lots of cards in there. Other than that, you'll just have to hurry. I doubt they will accept other ID because the student card provides proof of appearance, name AND student ID#, which is how grades are assigned.

You didn't mention how you lost your card, but you should be keeping it in your wallet at all times. Keeping it in a holder on one of the lanyards they give you is an awful idea.
