MacInsiders Community Chat Peaks At 2,700 Students - New server coming

The launch of the MacInsiders Community Chat (MI Chat) yesterday was huge, with 2,700 students visiting the chatroom within the first 24 hours. Thanks for trying it out!
Our server host has just informed us that chat scripts are prohibited, so we're in the process of moving it to another server. We'll keep you all posted.

Hmm I'm curious now. Is this 2,700 unique IP adresses or 2700 log-ons? In other words I believe we had far less than 2700 people who visited but those who did visit, visited several times.

I'm going to go with Replekia on this one. We had several people that logged on again and again, at various times in the day (myself included). I felt like some people never even left because no matter what time of the day I logged on, they were always there.
All in all, a really good feature. I'm enjoying it.

Yea, pretty sure that had to account for people relogging. Theres no way we had 2700 unique people log on in that chat in 24 hours.

Exactly! Even if it's 2700 log-ons on the chat.. in 24 hours?! That's definitely impressive.. Haha we're sort of "socializing" .. so it's not exactly a complete loss
