So, you know how I'm generally a pretty creepy dude?
This is what came of it.
Basically, I compiled data from 78 distinct (known alternate accounts were only counted once) "regular" users (whose data I could find, at least) and stuck it all in Excel. The definition of a "regular" user is pretty arbitrary, but essentially if you've made a few appearances in Chat or a decent number of posts between September and today, you were included.
Actually,
here's a list of people I included.
Unless I forgot you, which is pretty likely. Between the time I started writing this post and now, I can already think of one person I forgot. Sorry, Tom. :(
This last picture is one that might require some explaining: "Known" means you've either shown up to at least one meetup or I'm aware of someone having seen you in person. "Unknown" means that as far as I know, no one's seen you in person.
So what do you think? I knew the split between faculties was close (lots of engineers and science students), but I didn't think they'd literally be one apart. Nor did I expect the other four faculties to be so evenly represented.
Pleasantly surprised at the gender ratio too.
The age division was the only one that didn't catch me off-guard.
I wanted to do more analysis (number of posts, off-campus vs. residence), but those were things I would have to bother to look up and even then, some people don't disclose that information.
I might do a revision eventually if enough people add their names to the list.
And some notes I took in the process:
Nurses = Health Sci (drhorrible, Marlowe)
Kineseology, Math = Science (arathbon, Mahratta, Mowicz)
Comp Sci = Engineering (Afzal)
drhorrible = 3rd year, despite being a grad
healthsci1: gender, year? I kind of guessed.
