MacInsiders Reviews Section *NEW!*

Currently In Beta Testing!

Hi all! We're launching our Reviews Section and want you all to try it out! It will soon be officially launched as a navigation item at the top of the site and we'll be filling it regularly with reviews of popular hotspots in Hamilton and more.

Course Reviews Section

One section that may be of interest right now with Course Selection coming up in SOLAR is the COURSE REVIEW area! Post reviews of the classes you've taken to help others make decisions for their courses over the next week. Have your opinion heard and share your experience with the rest of the members here at MacInsiders!

There's currently 30 course reviews, and growing. See them here.

To post a review, select a category and click the "NEW REVIEW" button! Its that simple. If you're writing a course review, be sure to pick the correct year (1st, 2nd, etc) before posting.

Someone already post a review on what you wanted to write about? Thats fine! Simply open up the review that has already been written and click the REPLY button. You can post a review yourself that is on the same topic and put your OWN ratings, which will appear in your reply in the review thread, so others can reply with their opinions on the same topic and you can see the 'average' review rating numbers at the top.

the review system for the profs reminds me of ratemyprofessor.ca

Review system is great. It would be more efficient if you divided the course reviews in to folders called 1st year, 2nd year.... like that or else it will get too confusing,

Good idea, will split course reviews into categories.

As for the professor reviews, I heard suggestions for this feature... but if it isn't used enough we'll take it down and let people refer to ratemyprofessors since they have a much bigger database

This is an excellent new feature for the website, but it's somewhat unfortunate for incoming science students: a lot of the courses we took in our first year (bio 1AA3, Stats 1CC3, etc) were removed from the curiculum because of the level 1 revamp, so their corresponding course reviews are obsolete.

ya, thats unfortunate. Looks like we'll have to wait until this year is over before we'll have decent reviews of the current curriculum :(
