Why was there such a delay from the original anticipated estimate of four hours?

And why was there additional maintenance today? Some of my PMs (and likes on posts and whatnot) got deleted during that time.

I had a feeling the maintenance was gonna take way more than few hours, but didn't expect it to last until today..
Hopefully everything went well during the maintenance!

Thanks for your patience everyone. There were a few bugs along the way with the CPanel backup software that caused hours of delays right into the early morning while we waited for the techs to respond. Definitely wasn't what I had expected, it took much longer. Luckily everything is up and running on the new server, which I've noticed is much faster (yay!)
During the transition there was about an hour or so of overlap between the two servers that caused some post likes and PM's to not make it to the new server. I am doing some checks now to see what wasn't moved over and restoring some of the missing data so you may see them appear again over the next couple hours.
Are you guys noticing considerable speed improvements?
