I asked the book store this morning and they simply told me "we dont order books seperately" and man that was just sad to hear. I guess if they do sell it seperatly, when it will be?

I think Calclab book is the book that teaches you Maple. I don't know if we can use other book that also teaches Maple to do the lab work.

Has anyone seen the Calclabs book?
Can someone please tell me what its called?
Do they have separate books for Multi and Single Variable?
I just got used books and maple. But don't know a thing about the Calclabs book. :(

hey.

the calclab book is a thick book (abt 200 pages) which comes along with the package for the calculus textbook at the titles bookstore.

It contains all information for single and multiple variable.

I emailed the prof (A.Childs) to ask him if we can use an older edition of the single variable calclab with maple for stewart's book (<-- original title) and he replied sure you can but that the labs will be covering materials from both single variable and multiple variable labs. so if you plan to order them online separately .. you have to order both of them.

I have the maple software which you can also download from mininova.com (just go there and type maple 12 with license) and you can download the link. It works.

I found someone on campus to borrow there book and photocopy it cuz copier at mcmaster is 7cents/pg .. so it would be $14 for the whole book most likely.

gud luck.

mikefung, RoyK all say thanks to musavem for this post.

Thanks for the update on Maplesoft. Question about the Lab book though; When you say the calclab for single/multivariables, are we talking about the Student Solution Manuals that both come with the Calc package? Because I'm not entirely sure which package we're talking about here. I got a package (wrong one unfortunately) that contained Calculus, Early Transcendentals 6th Edition, plus the two student solution manuals as well as a package for the damned WebAssign (instead of the Maple Software - hence why I'm downloading maple now).

Calclab is there to help you, I prefer going to the tutorials and learn it yourself. With the help of TA, you can learn the syntax of maple easily, no sweat. Or use the search command in maple to search for your syntax, works for me.

Or you can even use "Help" in Maple, it describes the syntax in detail
