Martial Arts
I was looking to get into some sort of martial art during the summer.. the athletic registration is passed, and will only be availible for next term, so I was looking for some sort of independant studio.. What I'm looking for:
-Near McMaster or in and around downtown Hamilton
-Well respected and good instructors
-Fairly priced
-Hand-to-hand if possible
-Accept any skill level (I'm new obviously)
-Flexible hours (i.e. can drop in at any time, or have flexible options and day as to when you can show up would be really sweet)

I can deal without 'real' martial arts specifically though, I'm really just looking for a useful skill I can pick up that could benefit me athletically, possibly.. (not a fan of sports though)

Thank you

I know there's a tae kwon do place at Whitney & Mericourt, near Mac. It's about a 20-30 minute walk.

I've been training at Joslin's MMA for about a year and a half now. They have classes in boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian jui jitsu, submission wrestling, and mixed martial arts. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and the majority of students/members are very helpful and friendly, especially long time members.
The two head instructors are Rick and Jeff Joslin. Rick founded the gym and was a kickboxing champion (among many other things), while Jeff is world renowned for his skills in jiu jitsu, karate, and mma, having competed in the UFC and held the Apex Welterweight World Title.
The gym is located on Concession St., and any other information should be available on the website (www.joslinskarate.com ). Hope you check it out.

Man, I took Tae Kwon Do when I was a kid... so much fun. Wish I had the money to do it again. XD
