It's been a long time since Grandpa Entropy took 2X, but I remember it being one of the easier courses of second-year. The labs are actually kind of interesting and the test questions are pulled straight from the tutorial books so if you go to tutorials and do all the questions, you'll do fine.
The lectures are a little dry, but Igor's a really nice prof, always really approachable and happy to help. Also, the answer to most of Igor's lecture questions is "x-ray diffraction", so remember that and you'l be good.
