Math 1A03 or Math 1LS3?
I'm currently registered in Math 1A03 but people have told me it's a lot harder than Math 1LS3. I'm doing a major in Kinesiology and most likely a minor in chemistry. I plan on taking a statistics course in the upcoming years but that's about it for math.
Would Math 1A03 or Math 1LS3 be a better choice?
Thanks

There are literally hundreds of threads asking the same question.
But TL;DR 1LS3 is much easier, most would suggest you take 1LS3 unless you really love math

Both weren't too bad. 1A03 was a bit heavy on the theories and formulas and basically left off from where high school calculus finished. and 1LS3 was more conceptual (biological applications), but included high school review. Many people would say MATH 1LS3 is easier.

I haven't taken the stats course yet (if you're talking about STATS 2B03), but I heard it was pretty simple (I don't think there's alot of/any calculus involved).

easy mark: 1LS3
more interesting, but more work: 1A03

all the "L" courses are easier versions of course for people who just want the knowledge they need and an easier course load

I'd only take 1LS3 if you are weak in math

The statistics course isn't worth thinking about, you'll share that opinion, even when taking it. Choice of 1A03 and 1LS3 boils down to level of effort required, but neither will put you at an advantage/disadvantage down the road unless you require more math.

It really depends on your math foundation and your personal preferences. If you have a stronger math foundation and want to learn something new, take 1A03. If you have a weaker math foundation, consider taking 1LS3. But if you have a strong math background, I wouldn't bother much with 1LS3 because you honestly get nothing out of the class (in other words, waste of tuition money)

Wow! Thank you everyone for their reply
I have a decent background in math but I get a lot of help which I won't have next year. I've decided to go with Math 1LS3 first semester.
Thanks again.
