It's generally not a good idea to brag because there's always someone who's done 'better' than you.

Even a straight 12 average, someone will simply claim that their 11's are superior since you're taking 'bird courses.' (which really doesn't make a whack of sense).

And there's very few "bird courses" in my experience. The vast majority of courses (regardless of how 'easy' people say they are) require some kind of work. I can't think of any courses I've taken which I could simply do nothing and get away with a great mark.

I agree wholeheartedly. (Well, except Gemstones...I wrote the final exam for kicks without taking the course and got a 97 on it (I knew the TA)...it was good times)

I'm just saying everyone's opinion of 'doing better' is relative...though I prefer to say it is 'skewed.' I'm not the one saying it, but you don't know how many people (cough* engineers) frown upon hummer's getting 10s in their courses because they're 'easy.'

Yup, I think university really puts you in your place. You never realize how many insanely smart people are out there.

I didn't go to the lectures (Dr.Nicas) cause it was in the morning and I felt that he was just deriving some theorems.. but do attend all the tutorials! The TA goes over all the even questions that are not found in the solution manual.

Do all the recommended questions from the textbook. Very important!
Make sure you understand all the concepts demonstrated from the examples. They show up often in midterms/exam as multiple choices.

Nicas looked like Mr. Bean. :p

I didn't go to class either.

LOL...it's very true.

He is like the nicest guy I've ever met though...except for perhaps Dr. Valeriote.
