I don't know if this is true but in math 1LS3 do they offer the 90% exam 10% midterm option or was that only last year?

Yes, they are offering that. Check the course website, and on the main page there is a box that says: Formula we will use to calculate final course mark.

They calculate your grade using several schemes and use the one that is the highest.

protip: never bank on later evaluations to save you. ESSPECIALLY exams.
