I think this holds more so for first year courses, not because it gets 'harder' in second term but because it's easy as **** first term, because you're still "new to university". By second term they ramp it up because you're used to it and no longer have an excuse.
Good point dude. Also maybe profs know that those who take courses in 2nd semester might have an extra advantage if they have friends who took the same course 1st semester and they can benefit from getting previous labs and practise tests.

I heard BIO 1A03 is harder this term too, the formal lab was much more difficult or something like that. They really love to throw things at students don't they!

I don't know about that, 2nd semseter is harder from what I've heard. I didn't find 1st semester THAT easy anyways.

We have access to 1st semester tests, which are laughable. But this is still by far my easier course this year. No one have any excuse to do poorly on the last two tests. The first was doable, just surprising.

What, did you have to think a bit or something? That usually comes as a shock to 1LS3 students

There deleted, I do apologize for faculty bashing, even though I'm disappointed in the tone of this thread.

You really want to give people a reason to bash on your faculty some more?

It's odd you chose to get upset at the comment that was defending myself and the people taking 1LS3 from a comment basically calling all of us dumb. Get mad at the person originally starting the fight. Go ahead and bash my program all day, I honestly couldn't care less. I just don't like people who generally insult a large group of people's intelligence.

Lol I'm not upset. I'm just trying to make sure you know that being in Health Sci is like a giant target on your back in this forum and insulting another faculty probably isn't a good idea.

And he insulted 1LS3 students, and lets be honest the course is pretty much a joke, while you targeted his program specifically. You did delete your comment so I guess it's all good

My comment pertained specifically to people who wanted to specialise in math?

Taking Math 1LS3 instead of 1A03, simply because 1A03 is neither relevant to nor required for your program does not make you stupid - making silly generalizations does.
Where exactly did I:
1) Mention 1A03 vs. 1LS3 and stupidity
2) Generalize

Remember, I used the word 'usually', not 'always'. Had I used 'always', then the generalization point would be somewhat more valid. Unfortunately, I didn't imply anything about all 1LS3 students, but merely about a subset thereof.

statement 1: course got more difficult as a result of a more difficult prof and an element of surprise
statement 2: an entire set of students magically got stupid

which one makes more sense?

and yeah, the thread says the course is harder this semester, it's actually not genuinely hard (most people i know would say it's still an easy course), but compared to how this course was previously offered, it is harder

Math 1LS3 final was pretty difficult by the way. From what I heard, people went into the final exam with a 8-10 and their mark dropped down to a 6-7 after the final exam. So I wouldn't say it is that easy as you think it is.
