Math Cafe
Hey,
I'm in Math 2X03, and I've been told that I am to go to Math Cafe for help, instead of to Math Help Centre. However, I went to the Math Cafe website, and there are no hours whatsoever posted for help.
Does anyone know what's going on with that, or where I could get some help (other than office hours?)

Joey says thanks to jade177 for this post.

Because of the TA Strike situation, the TA hours etc. are taking much longer to set up than usual. But from what I understand, the 2nd year sessions in the Math Cafe are exclusively for office hours...it's no longer a "Drop in" environment.

This is because for first year courses, pretty much all Math students have this information readily available in their minds. Once you get to 2nd year however, the courses tend to diversify a bit. I for instance, though familiar with the material for the course I'm TAing, may not be answer a lot of questions about say, Math 2C03 (since it's not what I've been prepping for).

Not a satisfying answer, I know...but unfortunately that's how it is.

If you really need additional help, you could try contacting someone on the Private Tutoring list (http://www.math.mcmaster.ca/courses/tutors.php). But unfortunately, that costs money (which you negotiate with the tutor themselves).
