Don’t want to pull out a big map of McMaster or those ones so small you can barely read it ( why is there no good in between)? Want to chart out how to get from A to B without having to figure it out yourself or asking someone around you? Plan out where your classes are before you get there.
Also includes over 500 pictures of campus including floor maps to find the classes...something no paper map can do for you.
Now available on the Google Play for Android is McMaster Maps. You can search for buildings, restaurants and more around campus. More compressive than any paper map produced. Map your location in satellite or street view. Also contains two of the “paper maps”, in case you don’t know you have internet (although on campus you can connect to MacSecure and MacConnect for free with your MacID).

I really hope Mac didn't pay some external developer to make this because we already have a lot of developers on campus who would've done a better job.

At 48mb, I would think not.. cept for gps-y stuffs?
Seems building search and streetview crash the app if no internet, but you get a basic map, pictures, building name search, and floorplan without wifi... but you have wifi everywhere on campus...so....

Yeah sorry @AngryBean wasn't worth not being able to use certain function to support below 2.3.3 even though according to statistics phones from 1.5 to 2.2 have the app even though it is a small margin.
I did this in my own time. It cost me money to put up a free app. I did this cause I thought first years would like to be able to find places on campus. As far as I can see no other Ontario university as one like this. It is way better than the iPhone app IMO. I am not Android owner so not the easiest making this.
Its a big file cause it has 500 pictures including floor layout for the buildings that I could find so people didn't have to walk around looking for room numbers.
If you don't have wifi or data, there is a picture map option available too .

I am not first year student, I'm just a pissed off Android user. It's ok tho, kids those days spend more money on new hardware (phones) than food, so I guess you won't have many complaints.
I still think old fashioned ways like email with a map, chalk on the sidewalk and some papers on walls with directions are better and cheaper.

You should get the galaxy nexus, I love it!
..and yeah, exactly.. I'd rather skip out on a $15 meal and save up for a nice phone.
P.s. if you're with wind, the phone is only about $100 with a plan..

I bought the LG P-999 for the same 100, it might not have the latest android, but it sure as hell packs some horsepower, I get 2500+ on the benchmark. Nexus aint got nothing on Tegra2.

But I haven't gotten a problem like that in a month so I have nothing to say about that. Also I heard LG is going to release Android 4 for that phone after all. Even if it doesnt, being able to play all the games at full FPS is awesome.
