McMaster Marching Band Open House
BY CASSANDRA THOMSON, MMB VP COMMUNICATIONS
Come one, come all to the back athletic field (track and field on campus map) for our first open house. McMaster Marching Band is a brand new MSU club this year, kicking things of with the football game on September 7th. After much hard work by the executive for almost a year, McMaster University is the 3rd university in Canada to get a marching band, and it's completely student run!
Now that we have funding, support and a small band, we need to grow, and we want you to help us! The only requirements to become a member is that you know how to play an instrument at a senior high school level. In fact, most of our members haven't played since highscool. We will teach you how to march! We are looking to recruit all woodwind, brass and percussion musicians.
At our open house you will have the opportunity to play some of our music (bring your horn!), learn how to march, meet the executive, coordination committee, drum majors, section leaders and members, and afterwards there will be FREE FOOD, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the band and ask questions.
When: Wednesday, September 16, 2009
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Where: Back Athletic Field (Track and Field on campus map)
If you do not own an instrument, never fear, we have solutions. And if you don't play an instrument we are still looking for people that want to get more involved and help out!
