McMaster Musical Theatre Presents Footloose!

McMaster Musical Theatre presents Footloose!

Come on out and support the McMaster Musical Theatre in their performance of Footloose, a classic story!

It all starts when Ren (Alex Doyle) and his mother Ethel (Kristi Boulton) move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the local laws - including a ban on dancing - which are the brainchild of Reverend Moore, (Norman M. Kearney) a local preacher bent on exercising control over the town's youth. When the Reverend's rebellious daughter Ariel (Julianne Kucemba) sets her heart on Ren, her boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation and many of the locals are eager to believe the worst about the new kid. With its Oscar-nominated hit score (the film soundtrack album has sold over 15 million copies world-wide) the celebrated film musical now bursts explosively onto the stage!

The performance dates are as follows:

Friday, February 20th (8:00PM)
Saturday, February 21st (8:00PM)
Wednesday, February 25th (8:00PM)
Thursday, February 26th (8:00PM)
Friday, February 27th (8:00PM)
Saturday, February 28th (2:00PM & 8:00PM)
Sunday, March 1st (2:00PM & 8:00PM)

Kristi abandoned her gingerhood for this musical so I'm sure it'll be amazing!

I been working so hard
Keep punching my card
Eight hours, for what?
Oh, tell me what I got
I get this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town
Tonight I gotta cut

Loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me offa my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
You're playing so cool
Obeying every rule
Dig way down in your heart
You're yearning, burning for some
Somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try
You can fly if you'd only cut

Loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Oowhee, Marie
Shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, Milo
C'mon, c'mon let go
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
FIRST - we got to turn you around
SECOND - You put your feet on the ground
THIRD - Now take a hold of your soul
FOUR - Whooooooooa, I'm turning it
Loose, FOOTLOOSE
