The University placed seventh on the newly released "Canada’s Top 50 Research Universities 2014" list, and is the third most research-intensive university in Ontario.

According to data released by Research Infosource, McMaster receives more than $234,000 per faculty member — well above the national average of $175,900.
"McMaster continues to punch above its weight when it comes to research intensity and overall research income," said Mo Elbestawi, vice-president, Research and International Affairs.
"Our faculty continue to attract significant investment, while earning the respect of their peers based on the quantity and impact of their publications. We're home to some of the country's — indeed, the world's — most respected and talented researchers."
McMaster attracted more than $322.5 million in sponsored research income in 2013, based on financial data obtained from Statistics Canada.
