The mini fridge
Ok so this year we apparently are not allowed to bring our own mini fridges to rez and have to rent 'em through some company. The reason was that ppl bring old fridges and stuff which can be a safety hazard etc.

My questions are
a) how much would it cost to rent one(if anyone on here knows but i THINK its $150)
b) Why can't i just buy one on my own (bcoz I saw some pretty good deals on mini fridges today) and just show them the receipt that its brand new so obviously it WILL NOT blow up and burn the whole building down. -.-

Monopolizing on the fridge market prob cause mac maybe gets a cut? Idk maybe there were incidents of gas leakage or whatever. But you're right a brand new fridge = cheaper than renting

Don't bother renting their crappy fridges. You might as well just buy a new one and sneak it in.

You can just sneak it in if its that big of a deal to you, at worst you'll get some sort of write up that is merely an intimidation tactic.

Keyword: Sneak.

You might get ****ed if you are being loud and they knock on your door and notice the fridge, though.

Depending on what type of meal plan you have, I really doubt that you'll need a personal fridge that much.

They check your rooms around Christmas break, so you're probably going to get caught, unless you sneak it back out and then back again after New Year's lol

That's no problem, you just need to get creative. Cover the fridge with random stuff-clothes/books etc. They won't move any of it and when they check the rooms during christmas they just do a quick look anyways.

if youre not in a single, your roommate may order one before you both arrive and if you're in a triple you get one for free.

Just make sure if you sneak one in, it is not in front of your door. If you get a new one, just hope it looks the same so no one notices :b
