I am interested in taking this and wanted to know a bit more about it. I am interested in photography so I thought this might be fun to take. Has anyone taken this or know someone who has taken it?

I'm a little biased because I just graduated from the program and was a TA for three years. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have about the courses and profs.

Although im not majoring in this i thought it was fun and interesting!
If you plan on taking it, i reccomend you familiarize yourself with photoshop, and dreamweaver programs, it would help : )
I found that since most of my courses required a lot of reading/essay writing etc. this was a nice change since you do assignments and projects on the computer.

p.s. photography is a big part of this course!

Id love to take this course. Howcome engineer's cant take it? :(

Maybe you could help me decide? there are 3 different options with this course (Mmedia 1B03), there are two core courses available in second term C01 and C02 but there is also an evening course. However, if i want to chose the evening course on SOLAR how do I pick it as the evening course if it is C02 as well. How does solar decipher between the two C02 courses?

Also, I previously tried to get into this course last year but it was full the day SOLAR opened to me. Is this because I am in 4th year Kinesiology and not Multimedia? Do I have to wait for it to be opened to Multimedia students first? Solar confuses the crap outta me.

I'm not really sure about the SOLAR stuff. I'd contact your academic advisor about that.

Enrolment is always really high for that course. I know that they hold spots for people that are attempting to enter into the Multimedia program because it's a prerequisite. You could always try emailing the prof for special permission as well. Like I said though, they'll always give preference to someone who needs the class to apply for the program.

The course code for the evening class should be 1B03E rather than just 1B03.

About choosing between day and evening core courses, there is a dropdown menu in SOLAR for Day vs. Evening.

It depends on the class, but sometimes these first year classes are open to 4th years and then they roll open another batch of seats for people who need them.

You hear a lot of stories of the 4th years "getting to the electives first and stealing all the seats", so it might work out for you this year. :]
