Ragnarok is an MMORPG as well. It's direct more toward those who enjoy anime. I never played it, so I can't tell you how it is.

RuneScape was a pretty popular MMORPG at my high school. It's just as addictive (maybe just a bit less) as WoW.
It's a pretty good game, and best of all, it has a free-to-play version. However, if you'd like to get the most out of RuneScape, I'd recommend getting the 'Members' version of the game.

This thread should have a giant warning on it lol.
"Playing MMOs is a quick and easy way to fail out of university!"

I totally agree...I quit playing them this year so that I could focus on my marks in gr 12. But...now that that's over..been playing it since the beginning of summer. Will probably stop around mid August. Can't afford to ruin my education.

Lol same here..
I've actually played Maplestory and it's pretty good, won't complain. Addicting though. Dragon Fable's not that bad either. I liked the graphics compared to Maplestory.

Ragnarok is freaking addicting if you actually get into it. Don't play it.

Just warning people, RuneScape is VERY VERY VERY addictive. Do NOT play it during the school year! Trust me, I learned the hard way!

Yup, RuneScape is very very very addictive.
What makes RuneScape unique is the fact that it has a free-to-play version, as Joseph stated. However, even the free-to-play version can get you addicted fast. This is why RuneScape has been recognized as the most popular free MMORPG by Guinness World Records.
As for RuneScape 'Members' version, just like WoW, if you begin playing it, it'll be very very very difficult to quit!
So like Greg stated, playing MMOs is an easy way to flunk out of University!

I played Star Wars Galaxies, back before WoW got so big and stole all the players. Also tried a couple free MMOs, like FlyFF, DOMO, and some driving game I can't remember the name of. They're all designed with one purpose: suck out your life force.
