This class was a great challenge.
It really summed up everything I learned in the first 2 years of my science degree. I love plants, but this course really made me read research papers. It taught me a lot about cell signalling pathways and how things are intertwined with eachother.

I really enjoyed the PBL project even though it was a bit of work. You have to pick a topic and make a transgenic plant. You have to find your genes of interest and promotors for those genes and make a presentation to the class. There is also a Q&A after.

The midterm comes along fast so prepare for it. Questions are given ahead of time, but make sure you go see the professor for help.

This course really prepares you for writting critically, to the point, and for reviews. It also teaches you to read research papers, and use molecular techniques to solve experients in how plants perceive pathogens and environmental stimuli.

If you love plants and/or like research, this is a class to take. If you are looking for a bird course, I woudn't really suggest it.
