msaf
if i use msaf for my midterm, does that mean the proportion of my midterm will add to my final?

it depends on your prof he might add it to the second midterm ( if you have one)
but usually it's easier to add it to the final exam
i suggest you email your prof. good luck
PS: i hope you are not talking about msafing today's midterm b/c it is a snow day and midterms are postponed

Check the syllabus for the course. Professors don't just put those together for fun. It spells out every policy of the course, including what happens if you use an MSAF.

You need to email the prof no matter what, but no you should check the syllabus first so you actually know what you're talking about when you contact your prof.

the thing is i have two midterms tomorrow, but i can only use msaf for only one midterm right?

No you can use your MSAF for a few things (3 or 5 i think) as long as neither are over 30%

You can send your professor(s) an MSAF up till one week after your midterm/test..

Most profs will take the weighting and throw it onto test 2 or exam. You can things that are <30% individiually. Email the prof in case they force you to write the midterm on another day. They most likely won't check (Mcmaster mostly knows students abuse this system as a way to get out of stuff). Just make sure if you ever msaf again in the term, you better have a legit reason with proof.
