msaf advice (the most wonderful time of the year)
hey all!

i'm in a tough spot re: assignment deadlines and need some advice.

i have two assignments due monday - one is essentially done. the other i'm assuming won't get done, but i'm working towards it.

i will definitely have to be at mcmaster on monday to hand in one assignment. the other i was thinking of using a msaf for.

a few questions:
  • if i do msaf - is it up to the professor to decide the penalty? ideally i'd like to have an extension to wrap this up for friday
  • do i contact the professor before i hand in the msaf form to let them know im sick and will be msafing? or do i deal with all of this after?
  • will it be seen as odd that i handed in one thing on monday, but not another? both things are supposed to be handed to prof directly in class on monday. ill go to the one class for the assignment that i'm done, but not the other.
thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

no guilt trips please.

The prof, in fact doesn't have to accommodate you at all. It is entirely at their discretion.

For assignments, you may just get 48 hour extension...not a week (up to prof). You would email the prof after you submit your MSAF. For your last question, that's something your risking by abusing MSAF - if they are different classes, I doubt they would find out, but again you are taking that risk.

msaf the assignment youre not done. no profs will care if you hand in another on the same day. all profs know msaf is used like this and dont care. email the prof/ia/whatever it says on the course outline after u msaf.
