McMaster Students Union Partners with
Canadian Blood Services
The McMaster Students Union (MSU) has made a commitment to help save more lives, through blood donation. Having recently become a member of Canadian Blood Services’ Partners for Life program, the MSU has pledged to donate 450 units of blood by the end of 2010.
“We are excited to work with the MSU to increase the number of young, new donors entering the blood system,” said Janet Piersma, Regional Donor Services Manager for Southern Ontario.
The Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) will be the MSU service responsible for promoting clinics on campus and ensuring students are educated about donation criteria.
“This is another way for students to give back to the Hamilton community,” said Joe Finkle, VicePresident(Educati on), McMaster Students Union. “Many of our students have been impacted by the need for blood by friends and family members. This partnership will help to educate students about one more way they can make a difference in their community and save lives at the same time.”
Over the next year and beyond, Canadian Blood Services and the McMaster Students Union jointly look forward to serving our communities and positively impacting the lives of so many! The next clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 13 in the McMaster University Student Centre.
