not surprised by the negative reaction to the royal baby coverage, or to celebrity gossip. personally, its a fun thing to read during my lunch break (off blogs like laineygossip or dlisted). and its not so much the content of gossip, but the reaction people have to it, or rather, how we discuss it.

for instance, this thread could have just been about royal baby names, royal customs, the new modern royal family, what Kate wore, etc.... and instead, we have a discussion about young Canadians and how they view the monarchy.
