We're getting a new building. I witnessed and participated in the vote this year.
We won't see it finished in our time though unfortunately.

Yes, it's meant to house the new program, but it's also meant to house ALL first year Eng students. The plan is to keep them as centralized as possible in the new building. This building is being operated and managed by the Faculty of Engineering.
One of the previous posters put up a link to the new building's webpage, I recommend you go read about what it's going to be used for.

Also Joe, the Burlington campus is exclusively for Mac's MBA program which is expanding a great deal in the next few years. Dean Bates' contract was extended to coincide with the expansion of the business faculty (from what I hear.. much to the ire of MUFA)

The minutes and materials should be on the Secretariat website. If you have trouble finding stuff, I'll scan the info for you. I'm pretty sure nothing about the building was closed session.

But let's be honest, does MUFA actually care for anyone who doesn't have a Ph.D and a tenured position?

From the University Planning Committee, if you search Liberal Arts you can see the building under the long term capital planning projects

From Senate, here are the complete proposals for the History Center and the Confucius Center if you're interested, http://www.mcmaster.ca/univsec/mtgdo...&AP_081210.pdf

I'm not sure what will happen there, but I imagine that it's so successful that GSA will probably look to keep the pub/bar business model.
