I wouldn't worry about Latin, it should open up.
I took both courses last year and everything was full the first time I tried to hit them up on SOLAR. After the first years get to pick their courses there should be plenty of space.
If it doesn't open up during the summer (which I'm 99% sure it will) and you still want it, there will be LOTS of space come the first weekS of class. Lots of people drop right away because the work load seems intimidating. If you are good at languages and great with memorization you will have no problem getting a +10 in first term (Second term is another story =P).

Yep, and there's quite a few cores, so you shouldn't have a problem. Check my post in the "Timetable checking" thread.
