Go to all the classes, review atleast every week and do LOTS AND LOTS of practice problems.

Make a poster!
Seriously, I made a giant poster with all the reaction mechanisms on it and put it up on my wall.

Kajura FTW.
I tend to mull over that "one really bad" Chem/Physics problem before I sleep. I find that because I'm forcing myself to relax (since I want to sleep) but still keeping my mind focused on one thing (and just one), it's much easier to figure out the tougher problems.

I would say learn the way that you learn. Not everyone learns through diagrams, but that's definitively a smart thing to do if that's how you learn.

I don't know if the TAs are going to be the same, but I had good TAs for both orgos. They really explain everything and get you involved. DEFINITIVELY go to tutorials. They help a lot.

Yeah, and if you find you don't like the TA you've been assigned, you're free to go to any of the others. My TA first term actually encouraged us to go to other TAs to see which one we liked best. Most of them were very good, though.

Thanks guys! Are the tutorials mandatory (i.e. iClickers and such?). Also, is it like Chem 1A0/1AA with tutorial questions done beforehand and taken up by the TA?

Tutorials aren't mandatory, no iClickers or anything. Then again, 1A03/1AA3 tutorials weren't mandatory and didn't have iClickers when I was in first year either.

Yeah, they give you questions that are taken up by the TA, but most people don't do them ahead of time The TAs usually go through how you would do the problem, assuming that no one has done the questions, although it depends on the TA. I tried to do it once, and then had most of the answers wrong--I found I learned much better when the TA just explained it

They aren't mandatory.

You're given the tutorial questions before and you take things up in tutorial
