Has anyone taken Chem 2E03 before taking 2OA3? I did well in 2E03, but I am not sure if that will give me an advantage, or not. How much more difficult is 2OA3 than 2E03?

I'm not sure, but you will have to contend with labs at least. You also forfeit your 2E03 credit by taking 2A03, so I think they must be quite similar. Maybe compare outlines?

I ended up getting a 6 in 2OA3 during summer school. I took 2OB3 in the regular session and got a 12. It's not that much harder than other subjects, just do practice questions, review as you go since most of the concepts are cumulative.

But to everybody else, thanks for all the advice!

I think I will end up taking it over the summer. Though I haven't gotten a reply for waiver form I filled out yet. :(

Hopefully there will still be space by the time I get the waiver, if not I guess taking it during the year won't be SO bad.

Can we take orgo in the summer after 2nd year, so not this summer or during the upcoming school year?

What are the disadvantages of that?

You can take it any time...the disadvantages of waiting until after second year would be not being able to take courses that require it as a co-requisite or prereq during second year (for example, biochem 2BB3). Also, some courses might draw on materials taught in orgo without formally listing it as a prereq or coreq. And, unless you can say for CERTAIN that you'll have next summer off to take orgo, and that you won't need to take any other courses or work or anything like that, there is always a chance you won't actually be able to take it next summer.

optimism says thanks to nerual for this post.
