OSAP and Working at McMaster
I don't apply for OSAP, but I'd like to get a job at McMaster. Is it possible to do so without having OSAP?

It sure is. I've had three on-campus jobs without ever applying to OSAP. Some jobs require 'McWork' funding, but you can be approved for that without an OSAP application.

There are lots of jobs available to students, but you have to look early. Many summer jobs are 'Mc-Work', where they the school gets funding for hiring you. You do not need to have an OSAP loan per se but you do need to qualify. You will be required to submit your parents income and other information to determine if you are in need of finanical aid.

If you have been independent for < 4 years, you have to give information about your family's income and expenses (sibling's tuition mostly). If >= 4, you just have to fill out a budget form for yourself for the summer.

I think that most people entering first year have not been independant for more than 4 years. And if you don't qualify for OSAP, than there is a good chance that you will not qualify for Mc-Work, BUT it is work a try because sometimes there are exceptions
