OSAP Pickup Question
Hey guys, I'm going to pickup my OSAP after Sept. 6 and I want to know if they require students to do something before picking it up. Like I checked the website and there's a list of things we need to bring: our Mac ID, proof of social insurance number, valid photo ID and a void cheque. Do we just show these things to them and that's it? Will they ask me anything else or will I have to fill out some forms or something? Just wondering because I wanna be prepared. <.<
Thanks!

Was really busy in the first half of the day from what I could see... I showed up at ~2pm and it wasn't so bad!

Where does it say you have to bring a void cheque? I know you have to bring all those other things you mentioned but I never heard you needed to bring a cheque.

You will need to bring a void cheque/ direct deposit form if you will be receiving any of your OSAP, i.e., not all of it is going straight to the school. If you're not sure, just bring one anyways!

Thanks, but where does it say you need a cheque and/or other required documents on the OSAP website? I've been checking the "How aid is released" section and it doesn't mention a cheque. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything else besides the cheque.

I'm not sure if it says it on the actual OSAP site, but if you go to the student financial aid and scholarships section of the Mac website, http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/osap.html , it says it there

What kind of information do they ask for about my bank? Because I don't know much about banking. <.<
Thanks for the replies everyone.

Bank account number, transit number, and bank ID code.
Go to the bank and ask for a Direct Deposit sheet or a void cheque which will have all your information printed on the bottom automatically.

As long as you bring a void cheque or banking info (it can be printed online if you have online banking) all they really ask you is to initial and sign. Dont worry its nothing fancy. Be sure to bring in all the required documents as listed on SFAS website.

When I first went I din't know much about banking either. Just bring the void cheque from bank and the person who will help you with picking osap will tell you which numbers from the cheque you have to put in the form.

Regarding banking info I just brought in a Direct Deposit form. You can just ask for that from your local bank branch. The person in charge of OSAP accepts those too.
