Oscar
Does anybody how and where to access OSCAR, i can't seem to find it right now, and what needs to be done?
Do we just register for it and it looks up availible jobs or what? Not 100% sure how it works.

Just go to Job Search and specifiy what type you are looking for, ie. part time, work study, etc. Upload your cover letter, CV, and perhaps transcripts under the documents section. When you're searching for jobs, be sure to check the elgibility requirements, such as degrees needed, year of university and so on. When you find jobs that look interesting, just attach your documents and send away! The more the merrier. It won't let you apply to the same one twice, so you don't have to worry about making a fool of yourself that way OSCAR is the best! It's the reason I have my amazing job right now

Yeah, just fill out all your information. It's given to the people when you send out applications I believe. Also, it asks all that stuff about your facutly and so on because it sort of matches you to positions. When I say matches you, I mean that if you try to apply to a position, it won't let you if it specifies that you don't have the correct prerequisites. However, you should always check the requirements to make sure. It shouldn't take long to fill out, 5 minutes max. The job search link is on the top bar.

Correct.
If you're living on rez, local is McMaster and permanent is your family house.

It doesn't matter too much which address you put in, and the residence phone number is the McMaster phone number, but each number is designated by extension, so there's no point in putting the Mac phone number. I suggest you either put in your cell phone number or your home phone number for it. And for address, either your home or McMaster one is fine!
Just a side note about mailing addresses, you have different postal code depending on which residence building you live in, go check the housing and conference services website for the correct one. http://housing.mcmaster.ca/Residence...Buildings.html Although, I am pretty sure it's not too big a deal if you used the wrong one as long as the name of the residence and room number is in!

905-525-9140 x.52790
Or listen to WooshWoosh for a more detailed explanation

The main number for the university is 905-525-9140
Follow that with your extension.

Iv registered for OSCAR, and have gone under the job search link and searched for pretty much everything i can find and iv run into a few problems:
1) almost 3/4 are not on the Mac Campus/Hamilton, their located in like Burlington, Mississauga, Ancaster ect ect...?
2) Is this the only way to get a job? Supposed i wanted to work at the student centre, or a restuarant, or at Quarters or somewhere on campus, is OSCAR the only way to get these jobs or once school starts (Sept 4) i can just ask around if these places are hiring?
