Parties
How is the party scene at mac? I understand that it's not as wild as lets say Western, but are parties held often?

I heard that there's a student run club. Where is it, and how does one go about becomming a DJ for the club? Whats the cover charge?

Are there any clubs off campus near mac?

Haha, I also turned down Western for McMaster...Screw Western's party stereotype. We'll have parties at Mac and they'll be bigger and better than any party Western has. Let's go first years!

O man, I've had a couple giant parties in rez. The first years are always the biggest partiers! They tend to be nice to me cause I'm over 19 for their alcohol, haha. I suggest a macinsiders party as well sometime!

Dont forget events! Engineering has a 'pub' or event usually at least once a month. Suuuuuuuuuuper fun, even if youre not in eng! They get busses to pick us up and take us somewhere - sometimes its a mystery too! XD

Also, there's quarter's on campus, but it sucks and is lame mostly

You'll find what you like best!

Hamilton has a pretty decent night life/club scene so parties (at least amongst my group of friends) tend to be held less often. It's worth spending the extra money going out when you don't have to clean shit up in the morning. That said, most first years are under 19, and when I was in first year, their were plenty of parties in res.

Quarters is the student run club and probably the biggest in Canada. It is in the basement of the student center. Cover is pretty cheap, I don't go to often enough to remember. They are actually looking for a new DJ this year I believe, they're having a 'spin-off' sometime in September. Not sure if you have to lug your own shit over, but at least bring your serato box/laptop and/or CDs.

Most of the clubs are downtown. There's a bar district off of main street called hess village. It's really nice in the summer, but it's still fun in the winter. There are a bunch of clubs, pubs, and a few bars there. Besides that there are a number of clubs spread around downtown.
