Hmm, they are due Sept 1st usually.

You will get to do it after SOLAR opens later next month and you confirm your payment agreement

well technically you can add money to your student account right now( if you are a current mac student) but nothing will be deducted until after september 1st, and late fees dont start until the end of september,

I have a quick question regarding my payment for first year. My net fees came to a total of $12849.27, and I chose the Flex Plan - OSAP ( Designed with the OSAP release schedule in mind. Required minimum payment is approximately 60% of your Net Fees total. Balance due no later than January 15). This is what it said for step 5.
5. FINANCIAL SUMMARY (Based on Current Student Record)
Flex Plan OSAP Amount
(funding options) $ 8069.56
McMaster Scholarship(s) $ 1200.00

Balance Forward $ 0.00

So I guess my OSAP and scholarship covers my payment, and does that mean I don't have to pay anything for my first year other than my textbooks (and pay back OSAP)?

Edit: When I clicked payment in full option, it showed that I had to pay over 3500$ by September first, so for OSAP flex plan, when do I pay that amount of $3500. Thanks and sorry if this was confusing to you.

Actually, thats not the case. I too am choosing the Flex Plan - OSAP. What is there is that they deducted 60% of your net fees and allowed you to cover that with OSAP payment as well as your $1200 scholar ship. Balance forward most likely means you do not owe any money for sept 1st as it is covered by your OSAP + scholarship. the remaining net fees are still due and you have to pay it by January 30th I believe.

Thanks Mark for clearing that up, but one question my total OSAP funding came to $12 000 and plus my scholarship of $1200, that is over $13000 and my NET total is just under $13000, so I don't understand how I have to pay any amount for first year.

Yeah, it's a bit weird at laying out the information but I think I got it. Your total OSAP funding is $12000. Think of your scholarship as "free money" given to you by the university. Lets say hypothetically your net fees are $13000. So what the plan does is that it takes approx. 60% of $13000 and make you pay that by Sept 30. The remaining 40% is put onto your student account and is due by Jan 30th. For the first payment, this plan allows you to use your OSAP and your scholarship to cover it. In your case, your using both (same as me). So lets say 60% is $7800. Your using your scholarship so 7800 - 1200 = $5600. So underneath the preview it says the amount they are going to deduct. I am guessing that the amount deducted is directed to your OSAP total that you receive later in September. Your first payment is still $7800, but they deduct $5600 from your OSAP as $1200 is covered by your scholarship. So 12000 - 5600 = $6400. So you will have $6400 left in your OSAP to cover the 2nd payment by Jan 30th

Actually this is the breakdown of what happens when you choose the flex plan.

12850 is the total you owe.

You have to pay 7710 by September First.

However, you deduct your first OSAP instalment and Scholarships from this amount: 7710 - 7200 - 1200.

So you will have to pay -690$.

Now in total after September 1st, you will owe 5140 - 690 or 4450$.

Your second OSAP instalment is 4800$ and is released in January.

So the 4450$ will end up being 4667$ by January 1st due to interest. So you will still have left over OSAP to claim for yourself. Don't forget to bring your banking information in January when you pick up your OSAP. You won't need your banking information when you pick up your OSAP in September.
