Payment agreement- do we HAVE to pay by sept. 1st
Hey guys,
As many of you know, the payment due date is sept 1st.
Would I HAVE to pay by that date? I wil be recieving Alberta Student Loan but my concern is that I applied for the loan slightly late. Because of this, I am unsure if my loan will be released by sept 1st. (It will be close to the date)
I just hope Mac won't kick me out because I couldn't pay by sept. 1st! Would Mac understand the situation and allow some time to make payment later? Anyone familiar with the situation, please feel free to help out!

I know if you pay later you get charged mad interest. My payment was 2 days late and the interest was like $130.

Yeah they won't kick you out if you don't pay by September 1st, they will just charge you a late fee and interest will accumulate until you do pay.

Can I make a payment in person? If I can, where can I make a payment?
As for interests being adding up for the payment fee, that is crazy...talk about no break!

Try contacting SFAS, it's worth a try.

I think you can pay in person, but I don't think they take cash. But you can drop off a check. It's Students Accounts and Cashiers in Gilmour Hall.
Also, contact them like I told you to contact SFAS.

They have other options than to pay in full by September first. They have payment plan options, they just involve interest.
Also I believe interest is like 1.2% a month, not sure if its different for tuition/residence payment.

You can make the payment at the Student Accounts and Cashiers office in Gilmour Hall.
If they didn't have crazy interest, people wouldn't have very much incentive to pay on time.

Well I know at the University of Calgary, payment deadline isn't due until 2-3 weeks of classes. That way students can withdraw/change courses without a payment. In that way, Mac seems cruel.

You can drop a course until September 17th and get a full refund :\ That's for term 1& 3 courses, for term 2 courses you can drop until January 11th and still get a full refund.
