Koodo also has some pretty sick plans, considering they just got rid off their calling areas. If i'm correct, all of Canada is one giant koodo zone now so there's no LD mins or anything.

Yeah but
a) it only lasts a year
b) it's not Canada Wide, it's calling area based.

I recently wanted to see how WIND mobile was around Mac bc their really cheap. I heard the signal was fine, so I bought a month's worth of internet. I got very decent speeds (and connection) all around and inside the mac campus. Im going to switch to WIND this year bc they have a 29$ unlimited talk, data, and global text for 29$, and u can get 5$ off if your on a plan with someone else. Plus now the give you a big tab so you get phones as cheap with them as you do with rogers bell and tellus. I wrote a little rave about their new plans on my blog (its mainly about grad/professional school life, with random things like cool wind promos on it: www.insideminds.tk)

Yea where you are makes all the difference, which is why i asked around and then even tested it my self for a month before deciding to switch. If your in an area with good reception and you spend most of your time in the hamilton-oshawa section of southern ontario then the down sides are worth the amount of money you spend, no question about that. If you guys want to know more about WIND (phones, plans, coverage, coverage around Mac etc...) Leave me a comment on my post about WINDs new plan at www.insideminds.tk and ill get back to you in a day or too. (Im a WIND fan and I've got a lot of family and friends that work in WIND, so i know quite a bit about it)

It's pretty good around campus. I've only had issues in ETB, but every service provider has issues there.
In terms of price plans, they're kinda hard to beat, especially if you go back home to a wind zone. I've used a blackberry bold 9780 since January with them, and I had no issues on campus.
Their new set of phones isn't that bad either, and now they're opening up in Kitchener / Waterloo, so that's another calling area that has free calling.
