I took this course in my second year, and I can tell you that I didn't expect to enjoy it, since I have no real interest in Planetary astronomy.
But, it ended up being one of my favourite courses that year. Planetary astronomy is full of fascinating stories of weird things, failures and successes. They should step you through each of the planets and major features in our solar system, along with a bit of the history of the study of the planets.
I would take the math/physics requirements for this course seriously though, when I took it, the prof (Dr. Reid) liked to put your problem solving skills to the test via assignments. The assignments were tougher than the final in my opinion, but that's usually the way I like my courses.
I'd definitly recomend it.
