Have you ever watched a marching band and wondered what it would be like to play in one? Do you want to know what goes on at ‘band camp’? Then you’ve come to the right place as the McMaster Marching Band is now recruiting for the 2010-2011 season.
The McMaster Marching Band made its debut last September and since then we’ve been heard on campus and all over the city. From the homecoming half-time field show to a number of parades, from basketball and volleyball games to marching with McMaster President Peter George for his farewell party, we’ve had the honour and privilege of playing at a great variety of events. We’re looking for musicians and dancers from all walks of life to come join their peers in a professional marching band that is founded on school spirit.
We will be holding a general information meeting Wednesday April 7, 2010 at 5:30pm in Clubspace where all inquiries will be answered, with some of the hard-working band members themselves as guest speakers. We are looking for individuals who are willing to be trained in drill and while extensive musicianship is not necessary, some degree of musical training is a must. If you ever took music in high school or played in a band, come out and see what the McMaster Marching Band has to offer.
