Polaris Music Prize 2009
Did anyone catch the broadcast of the 2009 Polaris Music Prize last night? (It was on cbcradio3.com and with video on muchmusic.com) The big winner of the night was Toronto's F'ed Up- The Chemistry of Common Life. This was a great night for Canadian independent music, and I have to admit that I'm a big fan of Metric, but I don't know half the bands that were nominated.

What are everyone's thoughts and musical tastes on Canadian music?

I've been meaning to check out F'ed Up. But anyways, I think Canadian music has been some of the best of the past couple of years. And I think the Polaris Prize is a great way to recognize our talented artists.

I love Canadian Music. : )

I kind of wished that Joel Plaskett won. Chad VanGaalen played at Harbourfront with the Cons on Canada Day and it was a great performance overall. And, Patrick Watson already won Polaris, so I don't think it's that much of a loss to him. Malajube is wonderful as usual.

I think that Neil Young and The Hip are the best things to ever happen to Canadian music. Talk about representing.
