Arsenal's bigger worry will be the ability that will be lost when Fabregas leaves, not his leadership, it would be interesting to see if Jack Wilshere can step into Fabregas' shoes, the guy definitely has the talent and the potential, but potential can only take you so far (Denilson anyone?
)
Berbatov is a supporting striker, so you can't expect too many goals from him, he didn't exactly score a ton at Tottenham either (maybe he did at Leverkusen, too lazy to check), but his role has always been to create opportunities for others (ie. make space, pass the ball, retain possession etc.), and his assist count isn't that bad, i remember his first season, he had 12-15 ish assists, which is actually pretty impressive for anyone
But this is gonna be an interesting season, no matter what the scoreline was at the charity shield, at the end of the day, it's pretty much just a friendly, and like (Sir) Ryan Giggs said, it has no bearing on the league at all..
And yeah, Ozil would have been amazing, he's kind of lazy (reminds me of Berbatov sometimes), but like Berbatov, he has the ability and the talent, no doubt about it, and sooner or later, Utd are gonna have to replace Giggs/Scholes. I'm sure both of them have at least one season left, but eventually, they will retire, so it would be nice to have a youngster ready to take over the creative/playmaking duties.
in other news: Real Madrid grew a brain and bought a player (Carvalho) they actually need!
