Rooney is a huge player for Man Utd, but contrary to what people have said here, SAF HAS gone on and strengthened the squad. Utd are no longer dependent on Rooney, we have Berbatov, Owen, Hernandez, and Macheda(injured for a good bit of last year) all fighting for his place, and at least two of those (Berbatov and Owen) have proven their quality. Hernandez and Macheda have their doubters, but not everyone has the ability to score against Holland, France, Argentina, and Chelsea (which Hernandez has already done).

I agree, but I can't help but to cheer on Rooney since he's been such an asset to the team in the past XD

With Ramires coming in and Essien back in action, can you think of a more powerful midfield?
Yeah, Scholes and Fletcher, ask the All-Powerful Michael Essien, and he'll tell you about the community shield
And it's not only Chelsea getting players back, Utd won't have that massive defensive crisis this year (hopefully), where the only specialist defender (Evra) was an attacking wing back
Add to that, Michael Carrick's return to form (again, i'll admit there are no guarantees, no guarantees for Essien remaining injury free either btw), as well as Anderson's return from injury, and that midfield doesn't look that bad at all, even though I've left a certain Ryan Giggs til the end.

How exactly have Berbatov and Owen proved their quality? They were quality for their former squads a few years back...not for United.
So, week 2 in the books. Chelsea cruise to another convincing 6-0 win, while the "strengthened" and "much improved" (LOL!) Manchester United were thoroughly outclassed by Sparky and Fulham. Fine, I will give United some credit, they did control the play for the fifteen minutes and in the final ten minutes. How 'bout that superstar Chicarito, and the proven quality of Owen and Berbatov? It's all starting to make sense now... Rooney didn't play so United dropped points, suggesting once again that Man. United really are a one man team. I had a laugh when Ferguson celebrated that own goal by Hangeland. Maybe next week he will celebrate winning a throw in? Who are Man. United?
...from Stamford Bridge, to Wemb(er)ley, we'll keep the blue flag flying high!

agreed man, it's a crisis here....i mean, as we all know, the league IS won and lost in week 2
chelsea are clearly a team of demi-Gods, first they beat the massive club West Brom, then they smash Wigan, who conceded FOUR goals against the mighty Blackpool...at home
In 07/08 Man Utd drew Reading, Portsmouth, and lost to Man City in 07/08, and were in the relegation zone in week 3
07/08...now what else happened that season? Perfect 10, Moscow, i think that sums it up...not too shabby is it?
like you said, it's week 2, relax, 36 games still left in the league
Its stupid Nani that messed up otherwise the game was in the bag no doubt.....Scholes has just been superb so far. Why hasn't Fergie played Park yet ? :S
For sure. ManU will bounce back big time. Oh btw.. which boy band is that u have at the signature page?
it's MBLAQ
@danzai: can't put all the blame on nani, cause no one on the field knew who was going to take the penalty at that time. it's hard to mentally prepare in like.. 10 seconds once they decide it's you. we should have a set order to these things though. before it was ronnie, but he's gone. imo giggs should take them.
