Arsenal's bigger worry will be the ability that will be lost when Fabregas leaves, not his leadership, it would be interesting to see if Jack Wilshere can step into Fabregas' shoes, the guy definitely has the talent and the potential, but potential can only take you so far (Denilson anyone? )

Berbatov is a supporting striker, so you can't expect too many goals from him, he didn't exactly score a ton at Tottenham either (maybe he did at Leverkusen, too lazy to check), but his role has always been to create opportunities for others (ie. make space, pass the ball, retain possession etc.), and his assist count isn't that bad, i remember his first season, he had 12-15 ish assists, which is actually pretty impressive for anyone

But this is gonna be an interesting season, no matter what the scoreline was at the charity shield, at the end of the day, it's pretty much just a friendly, and like (Sir) Ryan Giggs said, it has no bearing on the league at all..

And yeah, Ozil would have been amazing, he's kind of lazy (reminds me of Berbatov sometimes), but like Berbatov, he has the ability and the talent, no doubt about it, and sooner or later, Utd are gonna have to replace Giggs/Scholes. I'm sure both of them have at least one season left, but eventually, they will retire, so it would be nice to have a youngster ready to take over the creative/playmaking duties.

in other news: Real Madrid grew a brain and bought a player (Carvalho) they actually need!

Arsenal shoulda just let ***regas go, woulda stacked up Barca even more (if thts possible) and help thrash Real yet again. Ozil will likely be gone to Madrid esp. since Kaka is out for a while.
Agreed with waldo on Berba^

naw, I think fabregas is making a big mistake. He's giving up his big role at arsenal to be another bench warmer at barca, like he was on the spain team in this world cup.

lol, well, madrid's major brain growth factor was mourinho really

fabregas is a professional and i am completly confident that he will play to his best ability and keep his mind on arsenal this season. i havn't been able to watch much of preseason because of work however from what i have heard/read, nasri has been consistently ripping it every game so im really excited of him. what really worries me is our goalkeeper situation. almunia is bad, fabianski is worse, szczzzxnxesny is young and i can never get his name right, and manonne is also average and young. atm, i would prefer manonne or scznesny to start. cant be any worse than our first 2. i still cling onto hope that we get one of mancity's castoff goalies.

Yeah, the whole deal about Fabregas is so over-the-top. Rest assured he'll pick up from last year.

At the moment, it's probably Shay Given b/c Mancini will make Joe Hart #1. However, Shay Given >>> Almunia.

As true as that is, I doubt Arsenal can get him. Fulham will reject probably everything.

Man City has just signed Mario Balotelli for £24M. This could go very, very wrong...

Yeah. Paid big money to risk breaking team's chemistry. Unless they signed him as a everyday player.
