To compare the Torres deal wit Shevchenko's Chelsea signing, shows how bad this deal turned out to be.
and the funny part is that those 50 million pounds aren't pennies to Abramovich, the reason they have been drawing blanks in the transfer windows for the past 2 seasons or so is because he has been restructuring the wage bills and such this is because even he's being hurt by the recession. It was only this season after Chelsea had their slump that he's finally realized he has to pump money into the club in order to win the champions league he so badly longs for.
