Always remember to look at distance objects every 15-30 minutes or so (Just for like around 15 seconds) to prevent eye strain. This is true for both reading/browsing at screen as well as reading books. I highly doubt it's actually eye strain though (Through all my heavy computer usage, I've only gotten eye strain once). Eye strain happens when you focus on something for too long until your eye muscles get stiff or locked. It's fairly painful every time you blink and
Discomfort is probably due to dry eyes in which case you should try to consciously blink more, use artificial tears, or takes breaks from the computer/book.
